Want to Succeed? End Your Day Like This

There are a lot of articles that talk about how successful people start their day. There’s a good reason for that. We all look to find someone to emulate in our professional life. If you didn’t have positive role models growing up, you may look toward people in the spotlight who are renowned for their business expertise and their success. Of course, we want to know how they start their day. We all like to consider adopting lifestyle habits that could influence our likelihood of success.

Why Is the End of the Day So Important?

With so many people focusing on how successful people start their days, how they end their days is often overlooked. After all, we’re looking to get motivated during the early part of the day so that we can please our clients and continue to grow our business.

It’s important, though, that we think about what successful people do at the end of the day. As a business owner, you already know the likelihood is slim that you just go home and turn off thoughts related to your business. A small business is a lot like a baby. You spend years tending to its every need at all hours of the day and night.

Ask Yourself This Question at the End of Each Day

The end of the day is a time for reflection. It’s a time to consider the events of the day. It’s a time to think about what went well and what could have gone better. Everyone knows the name Steve Jobs. Love him or hate him, he was the iconic representation of Apple. He dressed the same way almost every day. It would definitely be fair to say that Jobs was a creature of habit. As a create of habit, he also had an introspective question that he asked himself at the end of each day. If today was my last day on earth, would I be happy with how I spent my time? Jobs is quoted as saying if he said no for too many days in a row, he knew he had to change something about his life.

Another question that Jobs was known to ask himself at night was what good he did during the day. Jobs’ is thought of as a man who worked with purpose. To be successful, we must understand our purpose. We must do good in the world and we must be happy with what we are doing.

We have to look at more than our income and client list to determine if we are successful. We also have to look at whether we are happy with what we are doing. If you truly want to be successful, make sure that you are also happy with your life.
